The Omoda E5 is a fully electric crossover vehicle that is set to launch in Malaysia in Q1 2024. It is the electric version of the Omoda 5 crossover that was launched by Chery in July 2023.
It has a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with an energy capacity of 61 kWh that provides up to 430 km of range (WLTP standard).
The Chery Omoda E5 is powered by a front-mounted electric motor rated at 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) and 340 Nm of torque.
The EV supports AC charging at a max of 9.9 kW, while DC fast charging goes up to 80 kW .
According to the official website of Chery Malaysia, the Omoda E5 supports AC charging at a max of 9.9 kW and DC fast charging up to 80 kW 12. The Omoda E5 can charge its batteries from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes via DC fast charging 12. Unfortunately, the charging time for a full battery has not been specified by the manufacturer
The Omoda E5 is equipped with features such as LED projector headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, black leather seat upholstery, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by a Qualcomm 8155 system on chip (SoC) .
The Omoda E5 also has advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as lane departure warning and prevention, blind spot detection, emergency lane keeping, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, front collision warning and autonomous emergency braking, auto high beam, hill start assist, hill descent control, and tyre pressure monitoring .
Unfortunately, the price of the Omoda E5 has not been finalized yet .
