British luxury automobile manufacturer Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW established in 1998 following after the Bavarian brand was licenced the rights to the Rolls-Royce brand name and logo from Rolls-Royce PLC and acquired the rights to the Spirit of Ecstasy and Rolls-Royce grill shape trademarks from Volkswagen AG. Like Bentley, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited operates from purpose-built administrative and production facilities opened in 2003 across from the historic Goodwood Circuit in Goodwood, West Sussex, England, United Kingdom.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom four-door luxury saloon was the first product on sale in 2003, and since then, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has expanded its product line up to include an extended wheelbase version of the Phantom sedan, a Phantom two-door coupé and Phantom convertible version and the less expensive Ghost four-door sedan and Wraith two-door coupe. The latest model offered by the marque is the Dawn luxury two-door four seater convertible
When it comes to the powertrain, the Ghost, Wraith and Dawn is powered by BMW’s N74B66 twin-turbocharged direct-injection 6.6-litre V12 engine making 563hp and 779Nm in the Ghost, 593hp and 779 Nm of torque in the Ghost V-Specification, 624hp and 800Nm in the Wraith, and 563hp and 820Nm in the Dawn. All models come with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
