An updated M2 Coupe from the BMW Group’s M Division is now available in Malaysia. Offering a more aggressive stance in appearance which reinforces the car’s performance capabilities, the latest M2 Coupe comes with new interior highlights and advanced technology for connectivity for motorsports enthusiasts.

Introducing the latest model, Han Sang Yun, Managing Director & CEO of BMW Group Malaysia said: “The BMW M2 Coupe perfectly illustrates our strengths and capabilities in creating dynamic and premium two-door, short wheelbase and ultimate rear wheel-drive sportcar which emotionally stirs performance car fans all over the world.”

Preserving its characteristics of power, sportiness and elegance which is synonymous with BMW Motorsports, the latest M2 Coupe has redesigned front and rear sections. Apart from the modified front apron with large air inlets, there are new bi-LED headlights in place of the xenon units found on its predecessor.

At the rear, the obvious changes are newly designed all-LED tailights giving the compact sports coupe a sharper and more aggressive modern appearance. Also introduced for the first time are 19-inch aluminium wheels in M twin-spoke design that further strengthen its performance expression.

Inside, there’s the new M-specific black instrument panel with contrast stitching which features the new infotainment system with live tiles and touchscreen capabilities. The driver’s experience is further enhanced with Apple Car Play (available via the BMW ConnectedDrive Store). Besides the M leather ‘Walknappa’ steering wheel with M Drive buttons, the interior has high-gloss carbonfibre trim.

Under the bonnet is a 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo in-line 6-cylinder engine which delivers 370 bhp/465 Nm (with a short-term boost to 500 Nm) to the rear wheels. Showing its association with motorsports, the car has a dual-flow oil return pump to ensure oil is distributed evenly throughout the engine during heavy acceleration, braking and on fast curves. An electronically-controlled Active M Differential, which optimises traction and directional stability, is fitted and when using the M Dynamic Mode, slight wheel slip and controlled drifting are possible.

The M2 Coupe comes with a lightweight M Sport suspension system, stiffened for better dynamism while adapting damper settings to retain ride comfort. M Servotronic steering with two response settings and M compound brakes are standard.

Priced from RM 535,800 (excluding insurance), the latest M2 Coupe can be ordered in one of these four exterior colours – Long Beach Blue, Black Sapphire, Alpine White and Mineral Grey. The M Sport seats are covered in Dakota Black Leather with contrast stitching in blue.
