Following the worldwide recall announced by Mitsubishi Motors for certain of its models to have a defective right-turn indicator switch replaced, Proton is also recalling all of its Inspira models (adapted from the Mitsubishi Lancer) to carry out the same replacement. This is because the switch assembly comes from the same supplier as that for Mitsubishi’s models so, as a precaution, Proton will change it on all the units manufactured between 2010 and 2014. The total number affected, according to the company, is 20,330 units.
The carmaker is also asking owners of the Exora CPS 1.6 owners manufactured within the period from 2009 to 2015 to bring their MPV to an authorised Proton service centre for a precautionary inspection of the fuel line in the powertrain compartment. This recall affects 90,000 units.
Proton Inspira and Exora owners are urged to make the appointment with their preferred service outlets for the inspection and replacement. All labour and parts costs relating to these rectification works, if any, will be borne by Proton.
For assistance in this matter, owners can call Proton’s Customer Care Hotline 1-800-888-398 or send an email to [email protected]. To know if their vehicle is involved in this recall, they can also visit www.carinquiry.proton.com and check online.
