Proton won the Silver Award in the Automotive Category at the Putra Brand Awards 2017, the first win by the Malaysian brand since the Awards were inaugurated in 2010.

“It is an important win for us after the recent developments at Proton. Taking home the Silver Award in the Automotive Category is an impressive achievement for us considering that it is the first time we have been shortlisted and we emerged a winner for this distinguished award,” said Abdul Rashid Musa, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing at Proton.

“With another recent win for our Iriz refinement model at the Carsifu Editor’s Choice Award 2017, and the recent improvement in our sales performance for January to September 2017, this acknowledgement reaffirms that we are heading in the right direction and timely too,” he added.

The Putra Brand Awards is an initiative by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) to recognise local and international brands that are near and dear to the hearts of Malaysians. The Putra Brand Awards measure brands by consumer preference and is endorsed by MATRADE. It is the only award chosen by members of the public.

“The award aims to recognise brand building as an integral business investment and that the result obtained is based on valid consumers survey on areas such as brand preference, pricing, quality, and advertising and promotions. We are humbled and grateful that our efforts in bringing Proton cars closer to consumers and raising awareness of our products whilst we increase brand perception has begun to show results,” Encik Abdul Rashid said.
