Perodua’s market share hit an all-time record of 51% in a month that could have seen its sales slow down. By offering a rebate of the same value as the 6% GST that would not be charged between June and August, the carmaker kept its showrooms busy during the month. Companies that didn’t offer such incentives saw a noticeable drop in sales but are hopeful that the lost volume will be more than made up in June which is expected to be a ‘boom time’ for the industry.
