As the countdown for the launch of Proton’s first SUV as well as the first new product from the partnership with Geely, the company is not only upgrading its network and facilities but also making sure that there are dealers in more locations.
Recently, a new 4S dealership was opened in Klang, Selangor, which is operated by a Proton dealer with 9 years of association with the brand. Vantage Speed Sdn Bhd had 1S (showroom only) and 2S outlets at separate locations but in accordance with the guidance of Proton to serve customers better, its shareholders agreed to build a 4S centre so that every service – including repainting and repair – would be at one location which was where the 2S centre was. The showroom in Setia Alam will be maintained to continue to provide convenience to its existing customers there.
“Ultimately, what matters is customers are happy going into the outlet to shop for a car. Once they have purchased a car, they must also be happy to send in their car for service with us. However, we would not be able to achieve this level of customer satisfaction if we do not operate as a one-stop centre. A 4S centre will allow for deeper customer engagement, and thorough understanding of their needs. Hence, the decision to operate as a 4S dealer is definitely a good choice,” said Dato’ Sri Tee Boon Kee, Director of Vantage Speed.
“The outlet is located in a densely populated area in Klang, and its presence is already familiar to all. This area also has a large number of Proton owners and they are the right target market to upgrade to the new and exciting line-up of Proton vehicles,” added Dato’ Sri Tee, who foresees am increase in sales and service throughput by more than 50%”.
The new outlet is situated along the town’s second main road and has many facilities for customers’ convenience. On the built-up area of 2,418 square metres, there is a showroom for 10 vehicles and a service centre with 14 service bays as well as 10 body and paint bays.
Besides these, like all of the latest Proton outlets, there are various areas to ensure that customers are comfortable while waiting and even a kids’ area for those who bring their little ones.
Commenting on the latest opening, Dr. Li Chunrong, CEO of Proton, said he is happy that the outlet upgrades are on track and that Proton is in a very good position to redeem itself in the market. “We are confident that we can achieve approval upgrades of 109 outlets by October, or maybe even earlier than expected,” he said.
“When we embarked on this exercise to upgrade our outlets, it was always to ensure customers can get the best experience whey walk into the outlets. The objectives were clear, and now that the results are almost being realised, we believe the outlet platforms are ready to receive the coming of the first Proton SUV in the market, as well as other future models.” Dr. Li said.
