This month, the Mitsubishi Ultimate Drive event moves from Peninsular Malaysia to East Malaysia, visiting Kota Kinabalu in Sabah and 3 locations in Sarawak. The last stop will be in Miri on April 28/29. For the schedule of dates and venues, click here.

During the event, visitors will be introduced to the latest Outlander 2.4 SUV which is now assembled in Malaysia, reducing its price by about RM16,000 from the price for the model from Japan.

The locally-assembled 7-seater Outlander 2.4 is essentially identical to the imported version in technical specifications, including the 2.4-litre 167 ps/222 Nm MIVEC 4-cylinder petrol engine. Likewise, the transmission is the INVECS-III CVT (with paddle shifters) and there’s also the Multi-Select 4WD system. This system is the product of years of developing 4WD systems using experience gained from participating in the Paris-Dakar rallies and other off-road events.

Both the 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre variants of the Outlander are now assembled locally, reducing their prices.
Leona Chin, Mitsubishi Motors Brand Ambassador in Malaysia, will take visitors on exciting test-drives

For the extra RM15,000 over the 2-litre variant, there’s more than just the bigger, more powerful engine. The standard premium features in the Outlander 2.4 include LED headlamps with daytime running lights, all-round monitor, sunroof, electrically-powered tailgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, electric parking brake and powered driver’s seat. These items were also offered in the CBU version so it’s evident how much can be saved by assembling locally.

Other activities at the event include a Car Simulator Challenge, test-drives with well-known female racer Leona Chin, and an obstacle course drive (KK and Miri only). There will be a selection of the latest Mitsubishi models on display and for test-drives, with booking gifts for those who order one at the event. There will also lucky draws with cash prizes and Mitsubishi Ralliart merchandise.

Owners of Mitsubishi vehicles who visit the events at showrooms will also be offered a free 30-ooint inspection of their vehicles, no labour charges for regular servicing and a free care-care kit for those who spend RM388 or more in a single invoice.

Cash rebates of up to RM17,000 are offered for the ASX and up to RM8,000 for the Triton

Throughout March, authorised Mitsubishi Motors dealers are also offering cash bonuses of up to RM17,000 for selected models. For the Triton, depending on the variant, cash bonuses of up to RM8,000 are offered. The warranty period for the Tritons is 5 years/200,000 kms (whichever comes first) except for the Triton Quest which has a maximum mileage limit of 100,000 kms. The Outlander and ASX models also have a 5-year warranty but without any mileage limit.
