Order-taking has started for the all-new 2018 Lexus LS, the latest flagship of Toyota luxury brand. Orders can be made at all authorised Lexus Centres throughout Malaysia for three variants of the model – LS Luxury (from RM799,000), LS Executive (from RM999,000) and LS Executive Hybrid (from RM1,459,000). Deliveries will take place during this first quarter of the year.

The latest LS is the fifth generation of the sedan which launched the brand in 1989. As has been the case with the past 4 generations, craftsmanship is a strong point with technology constantly being advanced.

The 2018 LS features Lexus’ first-ever twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine that produces 415 bhp/599 Nm coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an intuitive, predictive steering system.

It sits on the GA-L platform which was first used for the LC 500 coupe and will support the larger Lexus models to come. The design and quality of the platform have given Lexus engineers the opportunity to craft a highly rigid body with excellent noise and vibration characteristics. A lot of high-tensile strength steel is used throughout, along with aluminium for weight-saving and also for its excellent energy-absorbing performance.

The exterior form of the LS sports a new silhouette which has the appearance and appeal of a 4-door coupe but maintains the roominess of a traditional 3-box design. The interior is meticulously crafted with highlights such as Kiriko cut-glass and hand-pleated door trim – both of which transform according to lighting conditions, creating a one-of-a-kind space that epitomises luxury and elegance.

For the highest level of protection, there’s the Lexus Safety System, a comprehensive suite of systems that can detect impending collisions and help the driver avoid them.

As with all Lexus models sold in Malaysia, there is a warranty of 5 years with no limit on mileage. Complete and certified aftersales support is available at 7 locations around Malaysia.
