The 2018 Nissan NV350 Urvan (High Roof) is now in Nissan showrooms. The 14-passenger people-mover has the latest global design language as part of its facelift. This includes the new Nissan V-motion signature front grille and a reshaped front Bumper.
Also included in the new features for 2018 are a redesigned halogen headlamp unit with manual levelizer so that the beam can be directed optimally when different loads are carried. There is also a new steering wheel design.
“The Nissan NV350 Urvan is one of Malaysia’s best-selling commercial vehicles due to its 14-passenger carrying ability, outstanding reliability and fuel-efficient performance. The facelifted NV350 Urvan is now available nationwide with ready stocks, and we believe that this vehicle can support and further expand our customers’ business success,” said Christopher Tan, Sales & Marketing Director of Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM).
The Urvan is powered by a high-torque 2.5-litre turbocharged engine with clean-diesel technology, with the power going to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. Fuel economy is a strong point of the model which can go up to 11.5 kms per litre, it is claimed.
The model qualifies as an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) under the current Malaysian National Automotive Policy, entitling ETCM to obtain incentives that help lower its retail price. The full amount of the incentives provided is passed on to customers.
Other features include a Speed Limiter which is a requirement for passenger vehicles in Malaysia which have 12 seats or more. The device maintains the speed at a maximum of 100 km/h to reduce the risk of accidents. Another safety feature (also required by law) is the Fuel Cap with Lock to prevent fire risk.
The Urvan also has active safety systems like ABS with Brake Assist for stronger pedal pressure and a Child Safety Lock. The occupants are protected by Nissan’s Zone Body Construction which maximises protection in the event of an accident.
The on-the-road price of the 2018 Urvan starts from RM125,000 (around RM10,000 less in the duty-free zones of Labuan and Langkawi) and for vehicles registered for private use, the warranty period is 5 years or a maximum of 150,000 kms. If registered as a commercial vehicle, then the warranty period is 3 years or a maximum of 100,000 kms.
