From tomorrow onwards, new Isuzu pick-up and SUV models will have retail prices that are lower as no GST (Goods & Services Tax) will be charged with the purchase. The difference in prices with the 6% tax not added ranges from RM4,782 to RM10,291 in Peninsular Malaysia, depending on the model and variant. The prices will be revised in September when the Sales & Services Tax of 10% is introduced.

At present, the Isuzu passenger vehicle range consists of the Isuzu D-MAX and mu-X, the former having 12 variants while the latter has 2 variants. The D-MAX is available in single cab and double cab bodystyles with 2.5-litre and 3-litre turbodiesel engines and a choice of manual or automatic transmissions. The mu-X is a SUV with a 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine and comes only with an automatic transmission. However, customers can choose to have a 4×4 or 4×2 drivetrain.

Isuzu Malaysia’s Chief Operating Officer for Light Commercial Vehicle, Masayuki Suzuki, said that with the removal of the 6% GST, this is the best time to make a purchase and customers should take this opportunity to place their bookings.

“There is no better time to own a brand new Isuzu model. We hope that with these new prices and tax structure, our customers will take the opportunity to upgrade while new customers will be attracted to become an Isuzu owner,” he added.

The prices of the Isuzu commercial vehicle range – consisting of the ELF, Forward and GIGA models – will also be revised to reflect the omission of the GST. Customers will not have to pay the tax which, depending on the model and variant, ranges from RM4,968 to RM18,018 in Peninsular Malaysia.
