While the earlier version had a more traditional grille just above the front bumper, the new version’s grille continues downward and becomes part of the bumper. Together with this change are the foglight housings which are new as well.

The engine continues to be the 2.5-litre CRDi diesel engine with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) and intercooler. This engine produces a maximum power output of 170 ps at 3800 rpm with 441 Nm of torque between 2000 and 2500 rpm. Drive to the wheels is via a 5-speed automatic transmission with sports mode.
Other features include cruise control a drive recorder, DVD player with 7-inch screen on the ceiling, automatic sliding door (left side only) and cameras at the front and rear.
Priced at RM168,888 (with insurance in West Malaysia), the Grand Starex Royale is available in four colours and will be available at all Hyundai showrooms nationwide from December 2016 onwards. It comes with a 5-year/300,000 km (whichever comes first) extended warranty as well as a 24-hour roadside assist service.
