Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) will soon be launching the facelifted Nissan X-Trail range and for this update, a hybrid variant will be added for the first time in the model’s history of over 15 years.

The new X-Trail Hybrid’s powertrain uses a 2-litre petrol engine (144 ps/200 Nm) coupled with an electric motor generating 41 ps/160 Nm to boost performance while reducing fuel consumption at the same time. ETCM says the consumption is the best in class at 16.1 kms/litre.

4 choices in 2019 range
Besides the X-Trail Hybrid, the range will have three other variants – a 2.5-litre with AWD, and two variants with a 2-litre engine, both having 2WD.

The 3-row cabin gets a new 7-inch infotainment system (shown above) which is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ready with the driver having driving information presented on an Advanced Drive Assist Display. Both front seats have power adjustment and the tailgate is not only powered but opens automatically when a foot is positioned under the bumper momentarily.

Advanced safety technologies in the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite for the X-Trail

Besides the Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies shown above, there are 6 SRS airbags provided as standard in all variants with other safety features such as an Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold function, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Traction Control, ABS, Brake Assist, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Hill Start Assist, and ISOFIX childseat mounting points.

Colour choices include a new finish called Imperial Umber
