TC Euro Cars (TCEC) has begun selling an enhanced version of the Renault Captur, Europe’s best-selling crossover, which has a sportier, more assertive exterior with new bi-toned colours and an interior further refined for enhanced quality.
The latest Captur builds on the model’s original success, including its striking two-toned finish. In addition to the popular Flame Red (body)/Diamond Black (roof) colour option, the Captur is now available in three more body colours: Atacama Orange, Ocean Blue and Pearl White; all come with a Diamond Black roof. The new front end now more closely resembles the bigger Kadjar SUV.
During May, the price for the latest Captur remains at RM109,000 (without insurance), with an additional RM900 charged for the Flame Red and Pearl White colour options. The price includes kicking plates on the door sills and a boot tray.
Powered by Renault’s turbocharged TCe 120 engine which an output (120 ps/190 Nm) comparable to a normally-aspirated 1.8-litre engine and fitted with a 6-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) transmission, the light Captur can be driven at a brisk pace. At the same time, thanks to the smaller engine displacement, fuel consumption can be lower and is claimed to be as good as 18.5 kms/litre.
The Captur has a generous equipment and features list with LED Daytime Running Lights, LED indicators in the door mirrors, MediaNav multimedia system with a 7-inch touchscreen, reverse camera, keyless entry, and a new design for the 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior benefits from the use of high-quality plastics and a foam-backed dashboard. The black combi-leather seats, combi-leather door finishers, redesigned gear lever and door panels present a more modern and sophisticated cabin.
Within the compact body, the cabin space and seat configuration can be adapted to meet various usage requirements with a sliding rear bench seat that has a 60:40 backrest. The cargo space can go from 377 litres to a maximum of 1,235 litres.
“The Captur is one of Renault’s most in-demand models with 940,000 units sold globally to-date. It has also been the top-selling model in its segment in Europe, a testament of Renault’s 120 years of know how in design, production, engineering and technical expertise. With its trendy styling and chic new colours, powerful performance and excellent fuel efficiency, plus its continental quality and safety standards, we believe the new Captur will continue have great appeal, especially for those with active urban lifestyles,” said Kuan Kim Luen, CEO of TC Euro Cars.
Mr. Kuan added that the model also come with the ‘5-in-Captur’ aftersales service which gives customers more cost-savings and hassle-free servicing during the first 5 years. “The package provides free scheduled service and maintenance (parts and labour) for 5 years or up to 100,000 kms and during those first 5 years, there will be a full manufacturer’s warranty coverage – with no mileage limit,” he said.
“Captur owners can also have peace of mind with our complimentary 24-hours roadside assistance as well as pick-up and delivery during scheduled maintenance at Renault service centres. We will also provide a replacement car in the event any part is not available for over 48 hours at authorised service centres, subject to availability,” Mr. Kuan explained.
“We strive to offer our customers a quality aftersales experience. In addition to the 5-in-Captur service commitment, we also have an established parts supply system that ensures consistent parts availability. Customers can have peace of mind when choosing Renault, knowing that we have them covered,” he added.
