2017 Honda Civic Type R

The latest Civic Type R – the world’s fastest production FWD car – is the most expensive model in Honda Malaysia’s current line-up. It is also the most powerful Honda ever sold in Malaysia officially with the 2-litre VTEC turbocharged engine producing 310 ps/400 Nm.

Priced at RM320,000, it obviously does not sell in the same numbers as a City so it is pretty exclusive and in fact, every Civic Type R sold even has its own special serial numberplate positioned on the centre console. To date, Honda Malaysia has received more than 100 bookings for the model which is imported from the factory in the UK.

For those who plan to buy one between this month and June 2018, Honda Malaysia has a campaign aimed at rewarding customers who can win an exclusive trip to Japan to watch the 2018 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix at the Suzuka Circuit in October. The winners will receive two Business Class flight tickets and stay in Japan for 5 days with accommodation provided as well. In total, the prize is worth around RM30,000.

The Suzuka Circuit was opened in 1962 and is owned by a subsidiary of Honda Motor.

To participate in the ‘Sprint to the Suzuka Circuit’ campaign, purchasers must register their new Civic Type R by the end of June 2018. They then need to fill up a form and answer 2 short questions at any of Honda’s 20 Sport Dealers who sell this particular model. For the entries received, Honda Malaysia will pick 10 winners based on the creativity of their answers to the 2 questions.
