Who doesn’t love sandy beaches and a dip in the ocean? Especially after a hard long week at work. We know that not all of us has the luxury to travel too far to seek the serene ocean breeze so we are listing down the 4 beaches that are only within 3-hours’ drive from KL so you can enjoy a picnic by the beach and still make it home for work on Monday.

Pantai Morib, Banting

If you didn’t know that Selangor also has a beach that is worth the visit, well now you know. The best part is it’s only about 1 hour and 15 minutes’ drive from the city! Better yet, why not treat the family for a weekend stay at Gold Coast Morib?

You can reach the hotel by Friday night and leave Sunday in the evening with some time to spare to prepare for work on Monday. Plus Gold Coast Morib has a big pool with super cool slides for the kids. It’s a win-win.

Tanjung Tuan, Port Dickson

Want to try a different state instead? Drive further to Port Dickson – Tanjung Tuan to be exact. What’s different about Tanjung Tuan is the fact that the beach shares its spot with Malaysia’s luscious rainforest – this means that there are a lot of activities to do for the thrill-seekers.

If you walk along the beach you would even find the Cape Rachado Lighthouse (perfect spot for an Instagrammable picture). The best part is that it is only about 1 hour and 30 minutes’ drive from the city!

Puteri Beach, Melaka

It takes about 2 hours to get to this beach but you will not be disappointed. Puteri Beach in Melaka offers a lot of activities for you to do with your family such as Banana Boat Ride, Parasailing and fresh seafood for a big family dinner. If you just want a chill day, why not pack yourself a basket of home-cooked food and go for a picnic instead? The trees alongside the beach will provide enough shelter to shield you from the heat.

Gold Coast Sepang

Want a little luxury by the beach but don’t want to leave the KL/Selangor area? Book a night stay at this luxurious Villa directly on the beach. Yes, you know the one that assembles a palm tree. A night at the luxurious Villa can set you back around RM 500 and it is worth every penny.

Imagine waking up to the sound of crashing waves and serene blue views or watching the sunset from your balcony with a glass of cold lemon tea. This place is definitely a good spot to escape the city.

Ready for a beach getaway this weekend? Make sure you service your car before you drive it to the beach.
