Going into the final week of January 2018, the pump prices of petrol and diesel have been adjusted downwards – by 1 sen. Not a lot to cheer about for a Perodua Axia owner who would save 33 sen when filling a full tank during the coming 7 days. A Range Rover owner would save RM1.05 sen, which is probably not of great significance either.
With the 1 sen drop, the price of RON95 petrol is revised to RM2.29 a litre while RON97 Euro4M petrol will be priced at RM2.56 a litre after midnight today. Diesel prices will be RM2.31 a litre if you pump the widely available Euro2M grade and RM2.41 if you decide that your engine deserves better fuel and go for the Euro5 grade that has much less sulphur.
It seems hard to believe but in the same month just a year ago, motorists paid RM2.10 for a litre of RON95 petrol and RM2.40 for RON97 petrol, while diesel was going for RM2.05 a litre. That was when price adjustments were still done on a monthly basis.
