Naza Group confirmed as new distributor of Chevrolet

As mentioned in our report on January 4, 2010, the Chevrolet distributorship will go to the Naza Group and this was finalised recently with the signing of an agreement with GM South East Asia Operations. Nothing of significance was mentioned after the signing ceremony apart from the usual statements that local assembly will be considered (which GM has been 'exploring' since 2003) and the retail network will be expanded.

New Toyota service centre in Klang Valley

UMW Toyota Motor has opened a new service centre in Puchong Jaya, Selangor, to expand the company’s after-sales service in the Klang Valley. The RM24 million facility has 40 service bays and 52 after-sales staff members, and can service up to 145 cars daily.

No recall necessary for Nissan Frontier

Nissan Frontier models sold in Malaysia are not affected by the recall which has been announced in the USA. Edaran Tan Chong Motor says that the units sold here have different components and there have been no problems with the fuel gauge which prompted the recall.
