Periodic maintenance of a car, at the intervals recommended by the manufacturer, is important to ensure that it runs well and provides many years of enjoyable motoring. You also need to follow the schedule in order to keep the warranty valid.
But each time the car goes into the service centre, there is also a bill when it comes out, adding to your motoring cost. This varies from model to model and even depends on how much mileage has been done.
If you buy a new Volkswagen from an authorised dealer in Malaysia, you won’t need to pay for that maintenance cost for the first 3 years (or maximum of 45,000 kms) after original registration of the vehicle. This is because Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) is offering a free maintenance program for all models in its range registered from January 1, 2018.
Introducing the new benefit, Erik Winter, Managing Director of VPCM said that the 3-year free maintenance programme will help provide peace of mind to owners as the cost of caring for their cars are being taken up by Volkswagen.
“With this programme in place, owners need not have to worry about the maintenance of their Volkswagen. This also reaffirms the commitment we have towards our customers – not just in strengthening our aftersales service, but also the Volkswagen ownership experience for our owners,” he added.
The programme covers all maintenance costs, as per the standard maintenance schedule, with the exception of wear-and-tear parts such as brake discs, pads, windscreen wipers and bulbs.
