New Volkswagen vehicles sold in Malaysia will have their prices lowered by between RM4,400 and RM17,102 as a result of no GST (Goods & Services Tax) of 6% being charged from the beginning of next month.

Prices shown above exclude insurance premiums.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has provided an updated pricelist of the seven models it currently sells. Commenting on the new development, Erik Winter, Managing Director of VPCM, said: “The Malaysian public is in a position to benefit from the current situation. It’s a windfall for Malaysians and so I would like to urge those considering our products to grab this opportunity as there is no better time to own a Volkswagen.”

He added that the new prices will remain in effect, pending the expected re-implementation of the Sales and Services Tax (SST) by the government at a later time.

Besides lower prices, customers can also enjoy low interest rates of 0.88% per annum and cash rebates of up to RM15,000 on selected Volkswagen models with the current ‘Fuel Up Your Gaya’ promotion. Additionally, those who purchase a Volkswagen before June 30 2018 will also receive a petrol card pre-loaded with RM1,188.
