It’s the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive season and Malaysians will be travelling longer distances than usual to celebrate with loved ones in their hometowns or visit friends and relatives. While today’s cars are reliable and the roads are good, there’s always the possibility of an unexpected problem with the car. It might be just a puncture (so make sure your spare tyre is in good condition and properly inflated) or it may be something to do with the engine which disables the car along the highway.
If you own a Proton, don’t worry because the company is always there for you. Its Call Centre operates even during holidays, all day long, and a call to the toll-free number 1-800-888-398 will send assistance to wherever in the country you are.
“Since 1996, our Proton Mobile Assist teams have been providing road-side and trouble-shooting assistance to all Proton owners and like a good friend, it is there 24 hours/7 days a week via the Call Centre toll-free number,” said Abdul Rashid Musa, Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar Sdn Bhd.
There are 36 Proton Mobile Assist teams around the country to provide assistance and if the car is really unable to move, towing services can also be arranged. PROTON has been working with Multi Automotive Service and Assist (MASA) as its appointed vendor to provide such services, especially if there has been an accident.
If the Proton vehicle is still under the factory warranty, Proton will cover the charges. However, if its warranty has expired, Proton will charge a minimal fee of RM31.80 for the service.
