Nissan hybrid MPV to be launched in Malaysia

So far, the hybrid models that have been introduced in Malaysia have been sedans, hatchbacks and one SUV.

In the near future, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) will be introducing a MPV with a hybrid powertrain – the Nissan Serena S-Hybrid (Smart Hybrid).

While the company is not revealing the full technical details of this hybrid MPV, it is providing some insights of the video production that will be used as promotional material when the model is launched during the third quarter of 2013.

The creative ideas behind the production of the videos were conceptualized with the theme “Meet The Hybrids – New Age Family, New Age MPV” which is said to ideally represent the Serena S-Hybrid. This concept showcases a family that has embraced new technologies, making them more modern and connected compared to conventional Malaysian families.

Features shown in pictures may not be the same as the model sold in Malaysia

The Serena S-Hybrid has high-tech features, spaciousness and a quality interior, complemented by exclusive and distinctive exterior. It also offers plenty of space for up to 8 persons so even Grandma and Grandpa – and their friends – can join the family on outings.

During the pre-launch sales period, there will be an attractive Early Bird Promotion. Starting from today, the promotion consists of a Motorist Personal Accident Insurance package, relatively low hire-purchase interest rates and a free service package.

The pricing of the Serena S-Hybrid is still a secret but from what we know of the version that has so far been sold in Japan, it has a 2-litre engine displacement. Therefore, it would qualify for the full import and excise duty exemption provided by the Malaysian government. This means it could have an attractive price for an 8-seater MPV.

To register your interest in the Serena S-Hybrid, visit an authorized Nissan showroom. Locations of showrooms can be found at www.nissan.com.my.
