Another Honda outlet has been added to the brand’s network in Malaysia with the opening of a new 3S Centre in Skudai, Johor. Operated by Wang Loo Motor (JB) Sdn. Bhd., the new outlet is a timely addition in view of the fast-growing number of Honda owners in the southern region.
With this new 3S centre, Honda Malaysia now has 17 authorised dealers and four 4S (Sales, Service, Spare Parts and Body & Paint) Centres in the southern region, of which ten authorised dealers and three 4S Centres located in Johor.
“For the first half of 2017, the total sales in the southern region was more than 10,500 units, of which Johor contributed about 70%, which translated to more than 7,300 units. Overall sales in the region have contributed about 20% to the Honda Malaysia’s total sales volume of 52,527 units. The southern region sales also recorded a 30% increase when compared to the same period last year,” said Katsuto Hayashi, the company’s Managing Director and CEO.
Mr. Hayashi stressed that customer satisfaction is most important for Honda. “We have started a strategic plan to ensure that customer service is emphasised and customer voice is always heard and acted on. One such step is to continuously enhance the sales and after sales experience of our expanding customer base, and fulfill our customers’ expectations,” he said, adding that Honda Malaysia is expanding its dealership network by opening dealerships in every major town throughout Malaysia.
The new 3S Centre in Skudai was set up with an investment of RM22 million and has a built-up area of 73,979 square feet. There are 18 service bays that can handle up to 100 vehicles daily or up to 26,000 vehicles a year.
Customers visiting the 3S Centre can enjoy the convenience of a comfortable customer lounge with a variety of hot drinks and snacks available. Complimentary wifi and car wash services are also available while a Kids Corner will keep the little ones occupied. A surau is also available for Muslim customers.
Honda Malaysia’s sales this year continue on an upward trend with an increased market share of 18.5% (January – June 2017), compared to the same period in 2016 which was 14.4%. The brand remains in No.1 position in the Non-National segment as well as No.2 position in overall Total Industry Volume (TIV). Of significance is the fact that Honda’s market share in Malaysia in the first half of 2017 is the highest among all the markets the company sells its products in.
