Proton Holdings has produced a limited edition of the Preve known as the Preve Le which has a bodykit, leather seats, 17-inch rims and 6 airbags (like the version sold in Australia). Only 100 units – all in white –  will be available for sale at RM79,688 each (The most expensive version of the Preve range is priced at RM72,990).

One of these units will be given away to the Grand Prize winner of the “Pandu & Menang” contest which will run for 60 days until December 17, 2013.  According to the Proton’s Deputy CEO, Dato’ Lukman Ibrahim, the main objective of the contest is to create excitement and visibility of the Proton brand.

“The contest is part of Proton’s initiative to acknowledge the support we have received from not only our customers – but more importantly, Malaysians as a whole. This is also an interesting way for us to invite the general public to test drive and experience a Proton car for themselves,” he said.

There will be daily and weekly prizes which include a 42-inch LED TV, electrical gadgets and cash prizes throughout the duration of the contest which has prizes totalling more than RM400,000.

All Malaysians and Permanent Residents of the country (with a valid IC or passport and driver’s license) are eligible to participate in the contest. To enter, all that a participants needs to do is to test drive any Proton model at an authorised Proton dealer and fill in the test drive form.

The contest is divided into two areas – one is via SMS, where participants will need to answer two questions correctly and respond in the fastest time to win the Daily Prizes. The other portion of the contest invites participants to take a creative picture with the Proton model they have tested car and upload it on Facebook to win the Weekly Prizes. However, only the SMS contest participants who place a booking and register the vehicle within the contest period will be eligible to win the Grand Prize.

“Since the launch of the Proton Preve last year, Malaysians have seen for themselves the kind of commitment we have made towards improving the overall quality of our cars, as we remain steadfast to our philosophy of offering Malaysians products with quality and high level of safety, yet is value-for money. In support of this, the Proton Preve LE really is also a way for us to say thank you to our customers for their support towards our products and the Proton Brand,” said Dato’ Lukman.

He added that an additional colour is now available for the Preve range. Known as ‘Soft Lilac’, the colour has been conceived for female buyers.
