The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, an annual international children’s art contest organized by Toyota Motor Corporation, is now open to Malaysians. Since it began in 2004, the list of participating countries has increased to over 70 globally.
UMW Toyota Motor is now introducing the contest in Malaysia to encourage young children up to 15 years old to showcase their artistic talent.
“Through the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, UMW Toyota Motor wishes to strengthen the relationship with local communities and customers, and to make children, who are the future of our society, understand and design cars along with Toyota to create ties with them,” said Datuk Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor.
Malaysian participants will first compete in the national phase of the contest, after which 3 winners of each age category will then advance to the international phase (World Contest). For both phases, winners will be chosen from three age categories: under 10 years, 10 to 12 years, and 13 to 15 years.
Submissions for the national phase must be made not later than February 15, 2013. The international phase will be from April till the end of August 2013.
The top management from Toyota Motor Corporation will help judge the entries at the international phase. The winners of the international phase (World Contest) will win a trip to Tokyo, Japan, to attend the awards ceremony.
“This contest will also help the children – our future generation of the country – by inspiring their creative passion, new ideas to draw the truly practical, meaningful cars for the present and the future – a safe car for a safer and better society in the future,” Datuk Ismet Suki said.
“This is also a good chance for our Malaysian children, who have drawing passion and creative imagination, to try and compete with others in the world”, he added.
