I think most of Malaysians have stereotype on Chinese products. If this assumption is true, this product may need longer time compare to others to gain the public confident.

why the lastest news from china said that because of malaysia auto plolicy, and tax, currently chery had stop export their car to malaysia? even chery is still discuss with malaysia government, but they said the future is not bright. http://auto.sina.com.cn/news/2006-07-12/0826199599.shtml
so, can we see the QQ on 13 july? i don understand, what are we afraid of china car? look at the a160, only manage to sold few hundred units only. why not just let the market to decide their fate? |

It is not a suprise if Chery put the brake on their intention to invest in Malaysia, as their sales in Malaysia is relatively small compare to the amount money they have to invest here. For Chery, they have nothing to lose if they stop invest in Malaysia. Their internal market alonecould sustain their growth if they good enough to fight with those foreign car makers.
The data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed China car market alone is big enough in term of economies of scale, total sales in the first half at 1.8 million units, up 46.9 percent from the same period of 2005.

| RM40K is definitely way too high for a China built mini car. No wonder Alado only project 200units for this year. This car is priced at RMB40k in CHina so why the double price? Is it becoz of the special gomen tax again to protect Proton? |

It's time to stop the dominance of the Malaysian car market by the Japanese marques! We need more buyers of the Continental and Korean marques!

Saw the car in a showroom last saturday, and here is my little comments.
Outlook is nice and interior is relatively ok. Although it doesn't look up to date, but if compare with kancil, iswara, kelisa, atos and kenari, it looks better (at least for me). The internal space is just nice for me, at 5'11" height, compare to Satria NEO, I think this car offer me much better headroom. Even the driver seat can be adjusted quite far behind and allow my leg to extend more. I feel comfortable with it.
In term of car quality, I actually expect much from her, since there are so many good 'feedbacks' on the car, e.g. top best quality compact car in China, selling better than Chevrolet Spark, forumers feedback after seeing the car in KLIMS2006. However, what I can say is a little bit dissapointed. There are some imperfection in the central console mounting, the front compartment cannot close easily (have to push very high force), the headlight turn on switch is a little bit weird, some little problem on the power windows, etc.
I expect something much better than Proton, and I think probably Chery need some time to achieve that level. I have a little bit doubt that QQ can beat Proton/Perodua cars in term of quality.
Anyway, overall the car is ok, although 40K is a little bit expensive for this small car. However, if i have extra money, and there is auto version available, i would consider getting one for my wife, probably the orange color one. :)
