Recession-proof careers in healthcare

I was just on my way to the bank and saw this signboard posted which says "Nurse wanted". I can still remember when I was young nursing was one of those enviable careers to pursue besides being a doctor, engineer or lawyer.

I didn't give much thought to the nursing career it as I don't think I could stomach the grossly sight of blood and having to deal with poking needles into people's arms to get some blood.

For those who are contemplating pursuing a career in the recession-proof healthcare sector and it is a rewarding one not just in terms of monetary returns, MAHSA University College is having its Open Day on 4-5 September 2010 from 9am to 5pm.

During these two days, career talks are organised from 11am to 2.30pm where you can listen to various professors and experts who will talk about career paths in the heathcare sector and the qualifications required.

The 30-minute sessions are as follows for medicine (11am), dentistry (11.30am), pharmacy (noon), nursing (1pm), biomedical sciences (1pm), physiotherapy (1.30pm), radiography (1.30pm), environmental health (2pm) and foundation in science (2pm).

Some of the sessions are held concurrently. If you miss them, you can come again the next for the ones you missed. Mahsa University College is locate at Level 6, Block A, Pusat Bandar Damansara, Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur.
