Setia City Mall, a new project by Greenhill Resources Sdn Bhd (a unit of the country’s largest developer SP Setia Sdn Bhd) is expected to generate substantial revenue from the rental. It is expected to open its doors for business in May next year.

The estimated RM450 project, situated in Setia Alam just off the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) to Klang, has confirmed tenants such as Padini Concept Store, Golden Screen Cinemas, Urbanfresh, Harvey Norman, Fitness First, Courts and Wangsa Bowl. Rentals vary from RM5,000 to RM30,000, depend on size and lots.

Greenhill development director Robert Spinks said: “Out of the 250 retailers expected, 160 have confirmed their slots in Setia City Mall. The mall consists of 740,000 sq ft of space for rental spread over four levels of zoned shopping space. The biggest tenant will be Parkson, which has taken 120,000 sq ft.”
"It will provide a fun and affordable family experience - encompassing shopping, dining and entertainment," he added and offers much more than the typical retail destination.

Setia City Mall is jointly developed with Asian Retail Investment Fund, a fund managed by the investment arm of global property developer Lend Lease.

In the next few years, SP Setia also plans to launch a SOHO (small office home office) which consists of three blocks apartments next to the hotel by the end of this year. [Rufaidah]
