Your choice to Touch or Type

NOKIA’s research into mobile phone users’ behavior reveals that while the majority of them are high-speed, one-handed and one-thumb texters when it comes to SMS, chat and instant messaging, they want to enjoy the benefits of the touch screen as well.

To meet their needs, Nokia recently unveiled the super slim X3 Touch and Type, which combines a touch screen with the traditional 12-button phone keypad.

Nokia’s first “Touch and Type” phone allows you to tap quickly on its bright coloured touch screen for functions like setting alarms, smooth browsing and controlling applications for music and games.

It is equipped with a larger screen with clear menus and icons, plus keeping critical keys such as the send and end keys easily identified.

Those users who are like the old western gun slingers who are quick with their fingers will enjoy the full keypad for the quick thumb text messages and the usual phone calls.

With its slim (9.6mm) and modern sleek design, this makes the X3 one of the slimmest Nokia phones. You can easily slip it into the purse or the pocket.

Despite its size, the Nokia X3 is packed with features like 3G, WLAN, a music player, FM radio, five megapixel camera with four times digital zoom that can take both still and video images that can be stored on the available 16GB memory card.

It also features dedicated music and messaging keys, thus allowing fast access to important Ovi services, including social and entertainment applications.

In addition popular emails Ovi Mail, Windows Live mail / Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Gmail + local ISP) & IM (Ovi Chat, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Gtalk) with Nokia Messaging** (subject to local services availability) and chat accounts can be pushed direct to the phone via Nokia Messaging.

Expected to be on sale in the third quarter of 2010, the Nokia X3 will retail for about EUR 125 (RM500) excluding taxes and subsidies by telco companies.
