Mitsubishi Triton RA Edition

Following the introduction of the RA edition of the Lancer Sportback, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia is now offering a RA edition of the Mitsubishi Triton. Like the Lancer Sportback RA Edition, the Triton RA Edition will be limited in number with only 500 units for sale.

This exclusive version of the best-selling Mitsubishi model in Malaysia is specially customized with an exclusive accessory package that includes a tonneau cover, bumper extender, a unique racing element body sticker, window visor, motorsports-inspired interior with Ralliart embroidery logo on the seats, aluminium scuff plate, limited edition Triton RA carpet mat, Ralliart emblem as well as a plate on the console between the front seats which gives the unique serial number of each of the 500 units available.

The Triton RA Edition centre stack also houses a touchscreen entertainment system with built-in GPS route navigation. The full-colour LCD screen also doubles up as a display for the reverse camera, which would certainly be welcome by drivers of the long vehicle. Leather upholstery is standard.

The technical specifications of the Triton RA Edition are similar to those of the Triton 2.5 Automatic with power from the proven 2.5-litre turbocharged high-pressure commonrail diesel engine that produces 136 ps of power and 314 Nm of torque.

The Triton has high safety standards even though it is a pick-up truck. Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) are standard and there is also a hybrid LSD for greater stability on slippery surfaces, especially when cornering.

Passive safety features include an anti-Intrusion brake pedal, collapsible steering wheel, pre-tensioner, force-limiter seatbelts, dual-stage front SRS airbags and the Mitsubishi Motors’ RISE structure which reduces transmission of impact forces into the cabin to minimize injuries in an accident.

Like the other Triton versions, the Triton RA Edition is imported from Mitsubishi Motors’ factory in Thailand. It is priced at RM103,980 (on-the-road, inclusive of insurance for Peninsular Malaysia) and available in Black Mica and White Solid. Owners receive a 3-year/100,000 km warranty (whichever occurs first) as well as Mitsubishi’s 2-years free scheduled maintenance package.

The Triton RA Edition will be in the showrooms from this Friday and in East Malaysia from September 5, 2011.
