Goodyear Wrangler AT/SA

Goodyear Malaysia has recently introduced the new and improved Wrangler AT/SA, an all-terrain SUV and 4x4 tyre.

The new tyre in the Wrangler family features SilentArmor Technology which provides toughness in rough terrain while reducing road noise. It also boasts of construction with two layers reinforced by DuPont Kevlar, a material that is 5 times stronger than steel (also used in bulletproof vest construction). The two-ply sidewall construction and the sidewall compound of the Wrangler AT/SA has Durawall technology which reduces the risk of cuts and tears when driving in rough and rocky terrain.

The new Wrangler AT/SA has an enhanced silica tread compound that is said to extend treadlife by up to 20% (compared to the previous version), extending the distance that can be travelled on the tyre. The enhanced silica tread compound, in combination with the highly bladed tread design, also provides additional traction on all surfaces, dry or wet. Off-road traction is ensured by three important tread elements (1) the open intermediate rib design allows the vehicle to plough through soft and muddy surfaces (2) the multiple biting edges that grips in off-road condition and (3) deep shoulder notches that provides that extra grip needed in tough conditions.

The tyre has been designed with a specific bead area configuration that ensures that it sits firmly and tightly on the rim reducing rim slippage for minimal balancing requirements throughout the life of the tyre.
