Mazda2 production commences in Thailand

Mazda2 hatchback (ASEAN version)

Mazda2 sedan (China version)

Mazda Motor has begun producing the Mazda2 at Auto Alliance Thailand (a joint-venture plant with Ford) and this model is intended forĀ ASEAN markets. Initially, output is set at 20,000 units a year and it is known that there will also be a sedan variant produced (China version shown) as well. The 1.5-litre model is to be launched in Malaysia during the first quarter of 2010.
