F1: Red Bull 1-2 finish at season-closer in Abu Dhabi

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel took the chequered flag at the fabulous Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi in the final round of the 2009 F1 Championship. Mazda2 production commences in Thailand

Mazda Motor has begun producing the Mazda2 at Auto Alliance Thailand (a joint-venture plant with Ford) and this model is intended for ASEAN markets. Initially, output is set at 20,000 units a year and it is known that there will also be a sedan variant produced (China version shown) as well. F1: Jenson Button takes 2009 crown in Brazil

Reb Bull's Mark Webber took a well-deserved win in Brazil but it was Jenson Button, finishing in 5th place, who had the bigger celebration as he secured the 2009 World Championship title. Hummer finally sold for US$150 million

October 11, 2009

GM has confirmed that it will sell Hummer to China's Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company for US$150 million. Tengzhong will hold an 80% stake while the remainder will be taken by Hong Kong-listed Lumena Resources Corporation. GM 's plant in the USA will continue to make Hummers till 2011 (2012 at the latest) after which Tengzhong will take over production. Talk about this news in the MTM Forum.

F1: Vettel from pole to chequered flag at Suzuka

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel drove from pole position all the way to the chequered flag in the Japan GP. Behind him. Panasonic Toyota's Jarno Trulli held off McLaren's Lewis Hamilton to give the Japanese manufacturer a No. 2 podium placing in its home country. Button finished 8th and still holds his championship lead but Vettel and Barichello can still make a bid for the crown. Full results/discussion in the MTM Forum.
