With 45,200 passenger cars and commercial vehicles registered in November, the Total Industry Volume (TIV) was down 2% from October's TIV. However, compared to November 2008, it was 11% higher. Cumulative sales for 11 months reached 489,234 units and assuming at least 40,000 units are sold in December, the TIV for 2009 should be around 530,000 units. Talk about this news in the MTM Forum.
The New Sunday Times' CBT team has picked the Peugeot 308 Turbo as its '2009 Car of the Year', out of 17 models which won awards in various categories. Special awards went to the Toyota Prius (Good Design) and Volvo XC60 (Safety Innovation) while the Automotive Men of the Year were Edaran Tan Chong Motor's Dato' Dr Ang Bon Beng and Datuk Syed Abdull Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar, Perodua's MD who retires at the end of this month.
