TGMO is specially formulated for the latest Toyota engines
Toyota Genuine Motor Oil (TGMO) has been around since 1989 when UMW Toyota Motor first introduced it. Being a lubricant specifically developed for Toyota engines, it was deemed to be the best engine oil for Toyotas. Initially, it was available in two grades - 20W-50 (API SG) for petrol engines and CD-40 for diesel engines.
In line with advances in the engine oil industry and also changing and more stringent regulations, TGMO has been constantly improved to meet required standards as well as the needs of new generations of Toyota engines with new technology. The range of TGM products available also widened to include fully-synthetic oil.
Recently, the TGMO range was ‘refreshed’ both in packaging as well as in its formulation for the premium grade. TGMO fully synthetic oil has now been upgraded to the API SM service classification, replacing the previous SL classification (its classification for diesel engines remains as API CF). The new packaging design comes with a new bottle and cap design and is sold in 4-litre and the 1-litre packages.
The new TGMO is available at UMW Toyota Motor service branches, 3S dealers and authorised parts dealers nationwide. In conjunction with the new look, there is a 3-month campaign starting from September 2008 where all Toyota customers will have the chance to win a Toyota Vios 1.5G when they send in their vehicles for a Maxcheck service at any of UMW Toyota Motor’s service outlets.
