For the first time in the history of the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2009 (KLIMS’09), there will be an Automotive Academy Pavilion which will serve as an education fair to provide career guidance for students and aspiring engineers who would like to have a career in the automotive industry.
“What is unique here is that all the education courses on offer will be automotive-related. We are extremely proud of the fact that this is the first-time ever that an automotive education fair will be held as part of a motorshow in the world,” said Datuk Aishah Ahmad, President of Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) and Chairman of KLIMS ’09 organising committee.
“The nation’s goal to become the regional automotive hub creates the need for continuous human capital supply to the industry. In line with this, the Automotive Academy Pavilion aims to play its role by being the perfect platform for talent growth and development,” added Datuk Aishah Ahmad.
Visitors will be able to get information on the variety of careers in the automotive industry which range from design work to marketing and sales
The concept of the Automotive Academy Pavilion will be similar to that of an education fair whereby students go about fact-finding on courses that interest them. A dozen or more institutions/colleges/schools which offer automotive engineering or automotive-related courses will be present. There will also be seminar rooms for representatives of participating institutions to talk on the courses on offer.
For the aspiring Henry Fords, Soichiro Hondas, Kiichiro Toyodas in Malaysia, the Automotive Academy Pavilion may even be a gateway to a successful career in the automobile industry as some of the participating institutions do guarantee jobs to the students upon graduation.
KLIMS’09 will be held from May 29 to June 7 2009 at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
