Avoid Brickfields in KL!

Posted on October 26, 2010 10:33 AM
Two roads in the Brickfields area in Kuala Lumpur will be closed to traffic from today till 3 am on Thursday (28/10). As the roads are major arteries into the city, expect jams to occur on other roads as traffic is diverted. The road closure is for the launching of ‘Little India’ by the Prime Ministers of Malaysia and India.
The road closures are as follow:

No entry from Jalan Travers/Bangsar to Brickfields (the junction under the new flyover)
No entry at the Jalan Syed Putra/Jalan Tun Sambanthan junction heading to Brickfields
Motorists wishing to enter the Brickfields area from Jalan Travers will have to go all the way to the roundabout in front of the National Mosque and then loop back, while motorists from Jalan Syed Putra will have to go up to the Mahameru highway and take the slip road back to Jalan Tun Sambanthan.

Unless you have something important to do in the area, it’s really not advisable to drive there and waste fuel.
