JORGE LORENZO MEETS LOCAL FANS

Kuala Lumpur, 6 October 2010 – With the 2010 MotoGP Championship nearing the end with just four rounds remaining including the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix taking place this weekend, Fiat Yamaha Team’s Jorge Lorenzo today made a stop at the PETRONAS MotoGP Carnival in KLCC.

Currently leading the MotoGP championship standings, the Spaniard met fans who braved the weather and obliged them in an autograph session organised by PETRONAS, as the Premium Partner to the Fiat Yamaha Team.

Lorenzo also took time out to speak to his fans about his preparation for the weekend. Previewing the round, Lorenzo notes, “All I am thinking about is Sunday and if I can win the title. It’s been one of the dreams of my life and it would be great to get it here in Sepang”

Commenting on coming back to Sepang as well as the weather, he added, “The track is long and modern but the weather can be a problem because it can be too hot and also rain can cause problems. Last year was a bit crazy with the rain and then I had to start from last on the grid! I would definitely prefer it to be dry this year!"

The week-long PETRONAS MotoGP Carnival at the Esplanade in KLCC is designed as the centre of PETRONAS’ promotional activities leading up to the Malaysian round of the 2010 MotoGP championship. With Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo’s YAMAHA YZR-M1 race-bikes as the exhibition’s centrepiece, the showcase also includes a variety of other exhibits by partner’s Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia.
