Simpson Marine, Asia’s leading superyacht company and Asia's largest yacht brokerage company, tripled its boat sales this year, compared to 2010. According to Paul Whelan, the company’s General Manager, this development augurs well for the superyacht industry across Asia.
“Last November alone, Simpson Marine took delivery of 5 brand new luxury yachts in Singapore, amidst signs that the luxury yacht sector is showing healthy growth, despite the ongoing global economic crisis,” he said.
Simpson Marine has sold numerous superyachts in Asia since the company was founded by British yacht enthusiast Mike Simpson 26 years ago. The company is quite literally Asia’s most prolific yacht broker. With the most experience in the business of yacht broking in the region and the largest network of 8 offices in 6 countries, Simpson Marine provides unbeatable service support and a strong customer network.
As an indication of the company’s leadership position in the regional yachting industry, Simpson Marine won several notable awards in 2010, among them the Best Lagoon 620 Broker of the Year and was the recipient of the Lagoon brand’s Best After Sales Service award. Simpson Marine also clinched the Worldwide Best After Sales Service award 5 times in a row for Azimut Yachts, as well as the Asian Boating Lifetime Achievement Award to company founder and managing director, Mike Simpson.
Mr. Whelan explained that Simpson’s sales are booming in part because the company provides comprehensive turnkey services for yacht owners right from the moment they purchase the boat to when they start enjoying themselves onboard. Simpson Marine’s customers therefore encounter an easy and hassle-free experience of buying a yacht.
“The customers who purchase our luxury yachts are busy people and want everything taken care of by the broker, leaving them free to enjoy the yachts in their precious leisure hours,” he said, noting that an interesting trend seen lately is that many buyers upgrade to bigger boats more often, and some as short as within a year.
